Family Home Agency (FHA) is a non-traditional residential option for individuals with developmental disabilities. This model was adopted by the State of California in 1996 to expand residential options.

 

The FHA model allows participants to experience a more typical family setting while receiving the care and support necessary to ensure the best quality of life. Individuals living in an FHA setting participate with their friends, neighbors and coworkers in all areas of community life with services and support being provided under a loving private family home.

Independent Living Services (ILS) program delivers 1-on-1 support to individuals who need help developing the necessary skills to maintain or achieve their independence.

 

All Independent Living Services provided by CSS are guided by the ILS principals noted below:

  • Respect personal choices

  • Independence and growth

  • Becoming a participating member in community life

  • Full inclusion

  • Enhancing quality of life

  • Communication and conflict resolution  

  • Individualized service planning

What is SLS?

SLS
  • Assistance with selecting and moving into a home

  • Choosing personal attendants and housemates

  • Acquiring household furnishings;

  • Common daily living activities and emergencies

  • Becoming a participating member in community life

  • Managing personal financial affairs, as well as other supports

Supported Living Services (SLS) consist of a broad range of services to adults with developmental disabilities who choose to live independent.  Community Support Solutions (CSS) works with the individual to establish and maintain a safe, stable, and independent life in his or her own home.  Services provided by CSS include

  • Assistance with selecting and moving into a home

  • Choosing personal attendants and housemates

  • Acquiring household furnishings;

  • Common daily living activities and emergencies

  • Becoming a participating member in community life

  • Managing personal financial affairs, as well as other supports

These services help individuals exercise meaningful choice and control in their daily lives, including where and with whom to live.

Our programs are designed to foster individuals' nurturing relationships, full membership in the community, and work toward their long-range personal goals.
